An intensive approach to schizophrenia

An intensive approach to schizophrenia
There was an interesting article in the Washington Post about an early intervention approach to

schizophrenia that involves an intensive two-year course of socialization, family therapy, job and school assistance.  ACA is interested in whether any members are involved in such an approach.

To respond to your specific query, David, I am not currently involved in such an approach. I did work early in my career as a job coach for adults with schizophrenia and other severe mental disorders (SMD). While my department explicitly focused on job placement and support, our agency as a whole provided a comprehensive approach. We were limited to working with (a) only adults and (b) those whose incomes had dropped to the federal poverty level. I can only imagine how much better we would have done if we had been able to be involved earlier.
