For a moment think back to how much of an awkward person you were in elementary school, a pill you were in middle school, and the "cool kid" or for me "theatre nerd" in high school.....Yup some of you remember all the happy times and the popular kid days but for the kids I see they struggle to get out of bed, bullying or being bullied, on drugs, seek attention and love, and suffer in ways that I wish no child would have to experience
We can begin to see around us movements of being kind, bullying awareness, and pastors talking about speaking love
We spend trillions per year to be defended (or bully); trillions to be entertained; hundreds of billions to drive our cars; hundreds of billions to watch and engage in sex; hundreds of billions on illicit drug, with the same dollar amount just to get drunk, and over double the dollar amount to take care of our medicinal needs
The emotional damage which provoked the bitterness may have been an event which was obviously traumatic in nature, or it may have been the cumulative effect of many years of maltreatment, such as through parental neglect or bullying by peers. In either case, once bitterness sets in, it is very hard to get rid of.
