  • The American Counseling Association's 2020 Post-Election Analysis for Behavioral Health Providers

    This year Americans have struggled with the weight of a pandemic, racial tensions and an economic downturn. Our November general election has provided U.S. voters an opportunity to take action on these issues by electing leaders in Congress, the White House, and in gubernatorial seats across the country. The November general election will have far reaching impact on the outcomes of key issues including, judicial appointments, health care, climate change, racial justice and a post-COVID economy.

    With 435 House seats, 35 Senate seats, and 13 key gubernatorial seats (including American Samoa and Puerto Rico) to fill, changing leadership will have a great impact on public health policy going forward. The American Counseling Association's post-election analysis offers insight into key races in each state as well as the candidates who ultimately won their race.
