Hello All and Happy Thursday,

At the present time, I'm working with and providing mandated counseling services to Special Education students with I.E.Ps a school setting. During an I.E.P meeting a parent insist she wants to sit with her son during his counseling sessions. This was the first time in my career; I was ever approach by a parent with this type of request. I spoke to the parent about her son's privacy/confidentiality and how imperative the student and counselor relationship has grown and developed in the last 2 months. The parent continue to demand she sit in sessions with her son. As a counselor I don't want to jeopardize the relationship with my student and I.

Please comments/knowledge are allowed!!!! I welcome them.  I will greatly apprecipate this. I would like to give this parent information on her request.

Thank you for your time and consideration

Mamie Johnson.
