You Don't Know What You Don't Know. But, You Can Learn.

The behavioral health professional faces so many hard situations. You need all the knowledge you can get about real-life exp if you want to feel able to provide your clients with the best treatment options.
To help you become more knowledgeable about how child abuse may look and the impact it can have on a person's life, I've written a book, Angels Among Us: How God Used Everyday People to Perform Modern-day Miracles in My Life, by ReJean Johnson. It provides a case-study-like narrative on the life of a child abuse survivor, who developed both PTSD and Depression. It provides a variety of scenarios in which I had to navigate life, under enormous mental dysfunction without knowing what the problem was, for years. Eventually, I did get the help I needed that started me on the road to recovery.
As a therapist, you want to experience what I had to endure and overcome, vicariously, so that you may recognize what your patient may be experiencing and how to respond in an appropriate fashion to help him/her deal with the issues they face.
Angels Among Us, by ReJean Johnson is available now, at Amazon.com
