AnOddBox Christ-like Character…
Probably the most important knowledge I took from Northwest Nazarene University was that the meaning of Christian is Christ-like Character... It was also one of the most somber revelations... I watched a movie called Left Behind… Those who were Saved disappeared…, called to heaven…, and those who did not believe were cursed to experience the apocalypse as Left Behind… I was asked once if I believed I would be called to heaven or left behind… I truly believe in Christ-like Character, but my answer would be neither… If such a story were to hold truth then even if chosen I would refuse to go… The proclamations of this story suggest that those who are chosen carry the book of Christ, but do not have Christ-like Character. Christ has been my hero since I was a child. Not my hero through religion, but my hero through the heart of a child…, through the temperament of Christ-like Character… The one thing that I can say without a doubt in my mind is that if judgement day were to come…, Christ would choose to stay behind… I see apathy everywhere… Actions of hate… Actions of godly sublimations to suppress the face of hate… Actions of selfishness and entitlement that would suggest…, you would Leave Behind… It was not my choice to be born into this life…, however, if heaven were a place filled with these actions…, it is not a place I would choose to go…
