Who do I talk with…?

It never fails that I cynically chuckle every time I contemplate the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE). Personally I believe the GRE to be among the worst displays of arrogance the education system could engage in, but this is a rant for another now. At this now, I am thinking about what I refer to as GRE words… I had to take the GRE to get into graduate school and ironically when I used the GRE words in my graduate papers the professors often questioned what the words meant. What does it say when we have to define the words we use, as we use them…? I dislike polysemous words intensely. I am not a rote person, thus the way I remember a word is by my commitment to the use of the word. I struggle with myself intensely when I use a word inappropriately. But when a word has multiple meanings I damn near blow a gasket to our inability to collaborate with the polysemous words. Am I a pedantic…? Am I an erudite…? Perhaps I am just a person who wants to have a conversation that can rationalize and collaborate the content to achieve some degree of progressive resolution. Unfortunately, I am having trouble finding others I can talk with…

I went to a Christian university for my BA degree in Psychology. Automatically we can see arguments occurring between Theology and Psychology and for me there definitely was a lot of questions and challenges. Again, I am often accused of thinking way too much. I sought counsel from the university chaplain who ultimately informed me that though he was Godly he was not worldly and thus could not help me. My Theology professor was a bit more help, but his ultimate resolution was, “The problem with Christianity, is Christians…” If God and/or the ordained are unwilling and/or unable to collaborate, then who do I talk with…?

In graduate school where I received a MA in Counseling Psychology I would often challenge many of the modalities, and even some of the continued use of some modalities. Unfortunately the professors would talk to me like I was a textbook and the end resolution was, “Professor Subjectivity…” If professors are unwilling and/or unable to collaborate, then who do I talk with…?

One would think that in the professional world of Psychology there would be a greater degree of collaborative efforts. I wish… What does it say when a therapist can only talk textbook psychology to a client; only talk textbook psychology to another therapist; yet rarely apply psychology and even more rare... Transcend with psychology…? A therapist is supposed to seek resolution through logy “study of” and psyche “the soul/mind” to promote a transcendent resolution. Psychology is not a job… Psychology is a way of life… How do we transcend if we can only talk about what is in a textbook…? A textbook; all books; hell even this blog, is wisdom of what was. The intent of collaboration is wisdom to determine what will be. The word Intelligence means to use obtained information to progress forward. To possess information and use it inappropriately and/or to not use it to progress forward is the word Stupidity… If colleagues are unwilling and/or unable to collaborate, then who do I talk with…?

I did a Character Profile for an individual. I had a copy of the profile and the individual had a copy of the profile. I am an odd duck and thus I am always excited discussing a Character Profile; however, I noticed as the individual flipped the copy over that the emotional behavior had a look of disappointment. When inquired, the individual disclosed an expectation of a narrative about the profile. If I write a narrative about your character, I explained, then your character would belong to me. We use the profile to collaborate and then you can write your own character. If only collaboration could come so easily…

Collaboration is a character strength supported by the virtue of Intelligence yet strengthens the virtue of Humanities. As you may have noticed, I asked, who do I talk with… Not talk to; not talk at; not listen to; not passively ignore: To talk with… To Collaborate… To Transcend…

Collaborative Topic: Who do I talk with…?

I encourage you to reply…

Thank you,
