My name is Yvonne Ward and I am a doctoral candidate with North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. I am completing my research dissertation titled Beyond the Classroom: An Examination of Predictive Factors Influencing the Career Path of Counselors with an Earned Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. I plan to examine the impact counseling identity, perception of mentorship, and self-efficacy have on counselors’ career path and career choice post-doctoral degree. This research dissertation has been approved by NC A&T’s Institutional Review Board.

  • Have a master’s degree in Counseling from a CACREP accredited program inclusive of; Clinical Mental Health, Rehabilitation Counseling, and School Counseling.

Participation involves completing a consent form, a one-page demographic survey, and a 35-item online survey that should take no longer than 15-20 minutes to complete. In all, the study should require no more than 30 minutes of your time. The project is under the supervision of Dr. Michael Brooks (mbrooks1@ncat.edu) in the Department of Counseling at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University.
